Unlocking the Wing Cap Prerequisite
Before attempting this mission, players must ensure they have unlocked the Wing Cap cap block. Acquiring at least ten Power Stars allows Mario to enter the light beam in the main castle lobby and activate the red cap switches. Having the Wing Cap active is essential for maintaining flight stability while gathering the required airborne coins.
Players can access a red item block directly on the floating island or near the level's starting area. Striking the red block equips the winged cap before Mario enters the island's cannon. Proper preparation ensures Mario retains maximum flight duration throughout the attempt.
Reaching the Floating Island Cannon
To begin collecting the target coins, Mario must first travel to the sky island suspended above the stage. Players should speak with the pink Bob-omb Buddy near the entrance to open the level's cannons. Firing Mario from the ground cannon toward the floating island grants immediate access to the high-altitude launching pad.
